SUCCESFUL TREATMENT OF A CASE OF ANAL FISTULA, ANAL FISSURE AND INTERNAL HEMORRHOIDS COMPLICATED WITH INTERGULTEAL CLEFT ABSCESS
A 33 year old male patient visited our clinic on 2/1/25. His face wore a desperate look, etched with the frustration of numerous unsuccessful treatments. His face was like a mirror reflecting a shadow of hopelessness. When he was asked to narrate his complaints he went back to his childhood and started explaining every minor detail. He was always constipated since childhood. At the age of 10 he got diagnosed with anal fissure. The distressing constipation made him force to take kayam tablet on regular basis from the age of 16 years. At the age of 16 he also suffered from severe bleeding during bowel movements and was diagnosed with internal hemorrhoids. He did not take any treatment and relied on home remedies.
1 year back he was diagnosed with TB lymph node and took treatment for a year and got relieved. He had a family history of hemorrhoids, tb and hypertension. He had a good appetite and thirst with refreshed sleep and normal perspiration. He had a special craving towards sweets and spicy food along with sensitivity to both extremes of climate.
He was a man who always respected and valued other people’s time. He was meticulous about punctuality and could get irritated when others fail to meet his standard. He loved his family so much. He hated the idea of his family being apart and always tried to keep them together.
In 2021 he noticed pus coming from the anal area which was initially small in quantity but it gradually increased. In 2024 he consulted a doctor. He was diagnosed with internal hemorrhoids, anal fissure and anal fistula. He was advised surgery. He had undergone stapler hemorrhoidopexy, anal sphincter repair and laser surgery.
IHe came to us after surgery as the pus from the fistula was still continuing and he got a new abscess in the intergluteal cleft 5-6 days back. He was in a very helpless condition when he visited our clinic. He desperately wanted relief from his suffering as he was in severe pain. He never wanted to go for surgery but due to his pain he agreed for it hoping that would relieve his misery. All his hopes went in vain when he noticed that after surgery also pus was coming along with the appearance of a new abscess. He was disheartened. All the pain he had undergone for surgery along with pain of his sufferings was rendered useless. He asked us “Can homeopathy cure such complicated cases?” We offered him words of comfort, promising that better days were ahead waiting for him. He explained that the new abscess was initially a pimple like eruption and then gradually increased in size and got very painful that he was unable to sit or walk. The abscess was of size 2*1.33cm and it was red and tender to touch.
Based on his symptoms and mental picture he was prescribed constitutional homeopathic medicine. While selecting remedy we always kept in mind that he should get a speedy recovery understanding his agony. Along with the medicine he was also advised to do sitz bath and to use doughnut pillow while sitting. In the next visit on 6/2/25 he told that the pus from the fistula was decreased and pain in the new abscess area was also decreased. He complained of having mild burning in the area of the external opening of fistula. The medicine was repeated. In the next visit he told that the pus from the fistula was decreased and his pain from new abscess was very much better. He informed that a mild pain was there on touching the new abscess site. In the next visit on 23/1/25 he had a radiant smile spread across his face and told that he did not even have a trace of pain or pus. Once again homeopathy proved its excellence by bringing back happiness in his life and answering the question he asked!
